Senior Property Accountant
Location: Birmingham, AL (Onsite)

Our client is hiring a Sr Property Accountant with a tax focus to their corporate team. The property accountant is responsible for accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of real estate assets. This role manages month-end close, prepares financial statements, performs reconciliations, and partners with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will own the financial performance and reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties from transaction processing through financial statement delivery
• Perform month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with complete and audit-ready support documentation.
• Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of financial results, analysis of key variances, and timely reporting.
• Monitor cash activity and support cash flow management through coordination with operations and AP teams.
• Working alongside internal teams on tax-related questions tied to specific projects

Ideal Profile:

• 4 years of related experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate accounting.
• Accounting degree required
• Yardi Experience
• Someone who wants to grow into a well-rounded accounting professional
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not a must
