Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in requested specialty License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (will offer if not already certified) Must-Have: Basic arrhythmia interpretation Foley catheter irrigation PCA Epidural CPM Buck's traction Drains and chest tube management Knowledge of cardiac drips, neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients Description: This is a med-surg/telemetry nursing position. The facility has 361 licensed beds. It is a Level 2 Trauma Designation and a teaching hospital. The nursing department consists of various units that provide care for a wide range of patient types. Common diagnoses include general medical and surgical conditions, cardiac events, stroke, and trauma cases. The nurse will work in different medical-surgical and critical care areas, including overflow and decision units. Patient types include those with respiratory illnesses, infections, oncology needs, orthopedic conditions, and various surgical cases. The nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and support. Floating to other units within medical surgery and critical care areas may be required. Collaboration and teamwork with other healthcare professionals is essential. The department values communication and timely response to patient needs. The nurse should be prepared to manage patients using department-specific equipment and technology. Support staff such as CNA, nurse techs, respiratory therapists, and phlebotomists will be available. Weekend rotation and holiday expectations apply. The culture within the department promotes teamwork and assistance among staff members.
