Psychiatrist for Article 31 Outpatient Clinic

We are seeking a Part-Time Psychiatrist for our Article 31 Mental Health Outpatient Clinic in downtown Brooklyn. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to clients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and medication management. Additionally, the Psychiatrist will assume the role of Medical Director, offering guidance on clinical service delivery, providing clinical consultation, training and supervision, and participating in case reviews. Community Counseling and Mediation (CCM) is a renowned and esteemed provider in the mental health field, operating five Article 31 licensed clinics located in Brooklyn and Midtown Manhattan. With a dedicated team of over 100 licensed clinicians, we deliver comprehensive and personalized clinical services to a diverse client population. Our wide range of clinical services includes individual, group, and family counseling, as well as thorough psychosocial and psychiatric assessments and diagnosis. In addition, we offer psychopharmacology services to further support our clients' holistic well-being.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluation and assessment of pre-existing conditions and current conditions.

• Facilitate ongoing behavioral health services for clients, individual and family support, psychopharmacology assessments, medication monitoring and management, behavioral assessments and monitoring, education regarding medication, side effects, and behavioral health resources.

• Maintain all required paperwork and documentation necessary for the agency and for third-party billing services, including clinically appropriate and timely treatment plans.

• Provide prescriptions for psychotropic medications through the E-Prescribe system and deliver injectable medications.

• Communicate and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuum of care and appropriateness for level of care.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, providing training, consultations and supervision of the clinical staff and reporting to the governing body.

• Timely response and provision of emergency medication management to avert crisis.

• Cover colleagues when needed (during vacations, leave, or shortage of staff) at other sites.

• Responsible for keeping up all licensures, certifications, usernames and passwords for E-Prescribe and EHR systems.

• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to individuals' care, medical staff and clinical privileges.

Requirements:

• Current NY State Psychiatrist License & Board Certification.

• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within a fast pace environment.

• In office schedule, 15 to 20 hours/week during clinic hours. Clinics open from Monday to Friday (9 AM-9 PM) and Saturday (9 AM-5 PM).

Preferred:

• Board certified in addiction medicine.

• Experience working with individuals in treatment for substance use disorder.

• Experience working with children and adolescents.
