IT Project Manager

Salary: $75,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a bachelors degree plus at least 3 years of experience in project coordination and management, or equivalent professional experience.
• We prefer a CAPM certification.
• We expect familiarity with project management theory and practice, including PMBOK principles.
• We value understanding of state government structures, statutes, rules, and regulations relevant to our department.
• We require proficiency with internal methods, tools, procedures, and confidentiality practices.
• We need the ability to research and organize complex information.
• We expect strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• We look for excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• We value the ability to manage complex projects, analyze information, and prioritize multiple deadlines under pressure.
• We expect sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• We require all newly hired state employees to complete E-Verify.
• If the role requires driving as part of state business, a valid drivers license is required.

• We plan, manage, and implement small to medium-sized projects using repeatable project management standards and practices.
• We define project goals, tasks, mission, and resource needs, while managing budgets and allocation of resources.
• We work cross-functionally to solve problems, implement changes, and keep projects moving forward.
• We resolve conflicts, monitor progress, identify risks early, and escalate issues when needed.
• We support the development and submission of the Project Justification and System Security Plan as required.
• We coordinate vendor activities and communicate with internal and external partners.
• We help define service levels and customer requirements.
• We participate in design and testing phases.
• We complete other duties related to the position as assigned.
