Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a CA RN license and critical care skills in ventilator and neuro care management.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating required between sister facilities near the contracted site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with ventilated patients required
• Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal required
• Experience in respiratory/thoracic care required
• CVICU and Neuro ICU experience preferred
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, post-craniotomy, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including ventilator management and neuro critical care cases
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for the local candidate rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Infection prevention practices including isolation precautions and PPE use are required
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
• First-time ICU travelers may be considered depending on overall ICU experience
