You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. AWS is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. The role helps ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The position may involve participation in a primary responder rotation, coordinating response to operational incidents, and rapid resolution of issues impacting service availability. Primary responder responsibilities may require evening, weekend, holiday, and/or night work. Work independently and with a team; strong prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are essential. The role includes hardware and network repair, equipment installation, documentation, and process improvement in a 24/7 data center environment. Travel within and outside the regional work area is required. All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations: Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with after-hours support as needed Working in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely Note: Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future for these positions. Key Responsibilities Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that affect service availability; escalate to senior technicians and management as needed Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues Help train and onboard new team members The starting pay for DCO III is $30.77/hour. A Day in the Life Take ownership of technical issues brought by customers, engaging other teams to drive resolution Solve problems at their root and understand the broader context Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting You will be required to work shift work that includes days/nights/weekends/holidays. Travel within and outside the regional work area is required. Qualifications Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent diploma 1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or above, or Network or Security certification Experience working in a Data Center environment Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system Understanding of in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
