Responsible for completing varied duties to support the revenue cycle, compliance, and patient experience by accurately and efficiently completing tasks in areas of registration, financial screening, verification, and patient throughput. This incumbent will be responsible for meeting individual collection goals. Maintains a close working relationship with all members of the clinical team to ensure a seamless and positive experience for both patients and caregivers. This incumbent is considered essential staff and must be able to work as needed on weekends, holidays, and during disastrous events. This position may require deployment of legal, ethical and compliance related documents that must be presented and thoroughly explained to the patient at the time of registration. Position Summary Patient Financial Associate (Centralized Registration Department – remote after 1 week of training) Location: Remote after on‑site training in Town & Country (Miami‑Dade) for 1 week. Schedule: Monday – Sunday 3 days a week with 12 hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities: Insurance verification, collections, data entry, virtual registrations, and communication/partnership with patients, and clinical team. Our virtual registration department receives an upwards of 1,000 calls daily in a fast paced, high volume setting. Pay: $17.02 - $20.59 per hour (depending on experience) + $1,000 sign‑on bonus. What To Expect Fast‑paced environment: You will handle a high volume of calls (around 1,000 calls daily) and multi‑task effectively. Training: We provide a comprehensive four week training program to equip you with the skills needed for the role. Patient interaction: There is no face‑to‑face interaction however, Zoom calls with patients, clinical teams, and leadership will be required. Key Tasks Insurance Verification: You'll use online portals and communicate with insurance representatives to verify patient benefits. Collections: You will explain insurance details (deductibles, co‑pays) to patients and collect any financial responsibility. Data Integrity: Ensuring accurate registrations by confirming patient information following strict guidelines. Virtual Checkout: Utilize video conferencing to complete registrations, obtain consent, and collect payments. Communication: Effectively collaborate with other departments and foster teamwork within your team. Qualifications High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper. Additional Qualifications Associates Degree preferred. Complete and pass the Patient Access training course. Ability to work in a fast‑paced public health setting or Revenue Cycle setting with demonstrated experience in payment collection, such as billing, sales, and collection/Customer Service. In lieu of degree and/or experience, a highly motivated individual that has the ability to satisfactorily demonstrate and/or role play required skills in a professional manner with a clear and convincing ability to excel in the role. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills . Ability to multitask and have an agile mindset. Desired: Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines to include, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc. Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations and pre‑certifications, Microsoft Office products, and EMR applications, etc. Knowledge of medical terminology.
