Salary: $20-25/hr

Access Eye Institute is seeking a full time Surgical Coordinator in Westlake, CA. Must be willing to commute to Oxnard, CA for training and as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule surgeries, confirm OR availability, and coordinate with surgeons and facilities
• Obtain pre-op clearances, labs, consent forms, and insurance authorizations

• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling all surgical procedures, ensuring patients, surgeons, and surgical facilities are fully prepared. Acts as the main point of contact for patients throughout the pre-op and post-op process.
• Educate patients on pre- and post-op instructions and schedule follow-up visits
• Verify insurance benefits and submit authorizations
• Update medical records and maintain accurate surgical logs
• Communicate with patients, vendors, and clinical teams regarding any changes or updates
• Resolve scheduling conflicts or cancellations promptly
• Admin and/or clerical duties as needed

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, Bilingual Spanish is required
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and schedules
• Proficiency in using phone systems and other office equipment
• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures is a plus

Requirements:

• 12+ years experience in surgical scheduling or medical office, Ophthalmology or Retina is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance auths
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
