Join us.Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CEI Senior Bridge Inspector to join our Transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Georgia. This role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and construction engineering inspection support to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and schedules. Roles are available in Southeast Georgia, North Georgia, and Atlanta area.Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:Conduct advanced technical work in bridge and roadway construction inspection, including materials sampling, inspection, and testingSupport engineers in managing construction activities on large, complex bridge projectsMake significant decisions and exercise judgment while providing work direction to lower-level inspectorsPerform contract administration duties, including field measurements of pay items and required documentationLead complex inspections and supervise routine inspections conducted by lower-level inspectors to ensure compliance with construction contractsParticipate in pre-construction meetings, project close-out meetings, Concepts Meetings, and Field Plan Reviews (Preliminary and/or Final)Maintain comprehensive field documentation, including daily inspection reports, photographic records, and quality assurance logs to support project records and contract complianceCoordinate with contractors, design engineers, and project managers to identify and resolve construction-related issues and ensure adherence to project schedules and specificationsMentor and provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and technicians, fostering professional development and ensuring consistent quality standards across inspection activitiesConduct safety inspections and coordinate with project safety personnel to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirementsMonitor construction progress and schedule adherence, providing regular updates to project management and identifying potential delays or deviations from contract requirementsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or educationUS Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the workValid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewPreferred Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management (4-year curriculum) and five (5) years of progressive transportation technician experience as an employee or consultant for a State Highway AgencyThorough knowledge of specifications and standards, acceptable construction practices, materials, methods and equipment used in bridge/highway construction and engineeringAbility to read and comprehend bridge plans, Bridge Foundation Investigation reports, Contractor’s layouts, and all other documents associated with the project.
