General Statement of Job
Under occasional supervision, validate and maintain accurate data within the South Carolina Department of Education's Student Information System (SIS) for district, state, and federal funding. The state's current SIS is PowerSchool. Performs other secretarial and clerical duties of moderate variety and complexity. Reports to the immediate supervisor as assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Input, code, and update all student information in PowerSchool.
- Run district, state, and federal funding reports in PowerSchool.
- Review, investigate, and clean errors that may be present in Level Data State Validations in PowerSchool.
- Validate and correct reports provided by other departments as they relate to data from PowerSchool.
- Print report cards and other grade reports within PowerSchool.
- Maintain parent and student portal access accounts and assist parents and students with accessing their accounts to include resetting passwords.
- Enter student schedules in PowerSchool only after Master Schedules have been created by School Counselors and administrators.
- Complete tasks provided by the district Application Support Team are needed to maintain accurate data.
- Complete the Student Registration/Withdrawal [Student Records] process daily and/or as needed (varies by level and/or school).
- Complete Attendance/Truancy, daily (varies by level and/or school).
- Research, gather, and organize pertinent data from files and documents from outside sources for use in generating reports for supervisors.
- Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, other District administrators and staff, school administrators and staff, co-workers, students, parents, and the public.
- Comply with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives.
- Assist school staff in troubleshooting and training in PowerSchool.
- May conduct receptionist or general clerical and secretarial functions, including answering phones, copying, and filing correspondence and other documents, processing various forms and applications, collating materials, processing mail, and ordering supplies.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Requires a high school diploma supplemented by two years of secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Preferred experience with PowerSchool and/or other Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Experience with Microsoft Suite.
