Responsibilities The Medical Support Assistant shall perform receptionist functions in support of Veterans Health Administration, including but not limited to: Screens and receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre- and post- appointment contacts as required Receive medical records and ensure all necessary health and administrative information are processed into the proper Records Systems Coordinates and authorizes care with external community care providers Access computers to utilize Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, and various electronic systems Process community care consults in associated electronic systems Effectively communicates with internal and external medical providers, reception staff, patients, and other third parties Provide friendly and quality customer service to all patients, patient families, office and medical staff Various front desk administrative duties, as needed Pay Range: $20 - $24 Hourly Qualifications & Physical Requirements Education & Experience Required: High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent Knowledge of basic medical terminology Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience Ability to type 50 WPM Possess basic computer skills Oral and written proficiency in English Desired: At least one (1) year of specialized experience in a clinical setting (doctor’s office, clinic, hospital), including; Scheduling medical appointments in a clinical setting Experience utilizing electronic health record systems Experience screening and directing telephone calls appropriately Security Requirements: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance Must be a United States citizen At Sciolex Corporation, our top priorities and most valuable resources are our employees, which is why we offer a competitive total compensation package.
