Coach / Sponsor

Doniphan-Trumbull Public Schools is seeking a coach/sponsor. The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or GED, and preferably a Nebraska Teaching or Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, with a Special Services Certificate in coaching. First Aid and CPR training is required and must be kept current. A motor vehicle operator's license with a certificate to operate a school van is necessary. On-staff certificated employee is preferred. Coaching experience is also preferred.

The coach/sponsor will report to the Activities Director and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the assigned team, determining athlete participation during practices and games, promoting the athletic program within the schools and the community, assisting in the selection and evaluation of assistant coaches, coordinating with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, competitions, and more. The coach/sponsor will also supervise locker rooms and playing areas, remain with students during away events, oversee and tend to injured athletes, care for and maintain equipment, work closely with custodians in control at facilities, and serve as a role model to all students.

The coach/sponsor must adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives, maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents, and adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education. The position is exempt and requires regular, dependable in-person attendance, the ability to perform the identified tasks, and the ability to perform the following identified physical requirements: stamina, flexibility, activities, use of arms and hands, lifting requirements, pushing/pulling, and carrying.
