About the team: The hiring manager came through us on a contract to hire in 2024. She built this QA ServiceNow team from scratch. Currently 5 on the team. Mostly manual QA. This is replacing an automation engineer that is moving to the development team. This is a fast paced environment.

Job Description:
We are seeking a hands on ServiceNow Automation Engineer to support and mature our QA function with a strong emphasis on ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and integration testing. This role will help balance a currently manual heavy environment into an effective 50/50 manual and automation testing model.
The ideal candidate has strong ITSM experience, solid automation skills using ATF, and hands on experience validating ServiceNow integrations using APIs, with Postman preferred. This role also includes coaching and mentoring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow ATF automated test suites across multiple modules
• Perform hands on manual and automated testing (approximately 50% manual / 50% automation)
• Validate ServiceNow integrations using APIs, including:
  • REST/SOAP API testing
  • Request/response validation
  • Data mapping and error handling checks
  • API testing experience required- Postman preferred
• Execute regression, functional, and smoke tests for enhancements, releases, and upgrades
• Validate ServiceNow configurations including workflows, business rules, UI policies, and scripts
• Collaborate with developers and product owners in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Log, track, and manage defects through resolution
• Identify opportunities to increase automation and integration test coverage
• Contribute to overall QA process improvement and maturity

Required Qualifications

• Handson experience as a ServiceNow QA / Automation Engineer
• Strong expertise with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)
• ITSM experience is required
• Experience validating ServiceNow integrations using APIs
• Experience using Postman (or similar tools) for API testing
• Ability to balance manual and automated testing
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor others

Preferred / Nice to Have

• ITOM experience (Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, Event Management)
• Experience testing integrations via MID Server
• CI/CD pipeline exposure
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, ITSM, CAD)
