Location

Park Ridge, IL – Hybrid opportunity offering a combination of in-office collaboration, flexibility, and scheduled appearances at administrative hearings and local courts.

Note

Applicants must hold an active Illinois law license. Prior experience with Secretary of State hearings, DUI defense, administrative law, or substance use treatment is preferred but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Job Description

• Represent clients in formal and informal Illinois Secretary of State hearings involving driver's license reinstatement and restricted driving permits.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 100 active matters with dedicated Case Manager support.
• Review driving records, alcohol and drug evaluations, treatment documentation, and other evidence to build compelling cases.
• Prepare clients for hearings through thorough case reviews, testimony preparation, and mock hearings.
• Advocate for clients before administrative hearing officers and handle written decisions, denials, and subsequent petitions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to maintain excellent client service and case outcomes.
• Provide direction and guidance to your Case Manager while overseeing the progress of assigned matters.
• Gain additional courtroom experience by covering DUI, traffic, and misdemeanor court appearances as scheduling permits.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Bar license in good standing.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and case preparation skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship management abilities.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload and provide guidance to support staff.
• Empathetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.
• Experience with Secretary of State hearings, DUI defense, administrative law, or substance use treatment preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
