Location: Conroe, Texas 77384

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Work Setting: Inpatient behavioral health hospital

 

Overview

A behavioral health hospital in Conroe is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as an RN House Supervisor on the night shift. This position provides hospital-wide nursing leadership, coordinates staffing, supports regulatory compliance, and ensures patients receive safe, high-quality care throughout the assigned shift.

The RN House Supervisor will serve as a clinical and operational resource for nursing staff while remaining available to assist with direct patient care, admissions, and intake needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing and hospital operations during assigned overnight shifts.
  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Monitor attendance, staffing needs, overtime, and agency utilization.
  • Provide clinical guidance, education, coaching, and performance support to nursing staff.
  • Respond to patient-care needs and provide direct nursing or intake support as needed.
  • Assist with nursing assessments, treatment planning, medication administration, admissions, and discharges.
  • Support staff evaluations, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Promote timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable accreditation, Medicaid, state, and federal requirements.
  • Communicate significant clinical or operational concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license meeting Texas requirements.
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Nursing leadership, supervisory, or charge nurse experience.
  • Strong critical-thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond appropriately in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment and before patient contact.
  • Ability to obtain required de-escalation certification within 30 days of employment and before patient contact.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral healthcare facility.
  • At least one year of nursing leadership or management experience.
  • Experience supporting patients with psychiatric conditions, dual diagnoses, or substance-use disorders.
  • Experience with patient assessments, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary communication.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The schedule consists of three 12-hour overnight shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The RN House Supervisor must be comfortable overseeing hospital operations with limited supervision, responding to urgent clinical needs, and assisting with direct patient care when necessary.
