Inpatient Hospice Nurse, RN (Days 7a-7p)

Job Description Inpatient Facility Hospice RN – Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport, NC. Hours: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Summary The Inpatient Hospice Nurse, RN is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients requiring continuous inpatient nursing care. Registered Nurse (RN) Essential Job Functions Creates positive experiences for internal and external customers, meeting their expectations with courtesy, tact, and knowledge of services in all contact with staff, patients, and visitors. Provides comfort to patient and family to facilitate quality of life during the end‑of‑life process with dignity. Conducts the admission of the patient to the facility. Completes electronic documentation each shift. Teaches and counsels the patient and family regarding nursing care needs, problems with terminally ill patients, preparation for death, and discharge plans. Supervises care provided by Certified Nursing Assistants to assigned patients. Manages care load of approximately six patients per RN plus two CNAs per shift. Maintains regular communication with supervisor. Stays abreast of overall patient care and continually improves nursing care skills. Demonstrates interest in professional and personal growth. Demonstrates willingness to be cost effective. Requirements Licensed Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina.
