Optician 2 (Del Amo Optometry)

Job TitleThe primary function of this role is to help customers find eyeglasses and contact lenses that are the best match for each patient while providing the highest levels of quality and care.Essential FunctionsDetermine the reason for the patient's visit, identify lifestyle needs, and deliver recommendations to patients for eyewear needs following the prescription given by their optometristAttract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer retention, and promoting outstanding patient satisfactionAssist customers in the selection of frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescriptionRecommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit customer needs, occupations, habits, and facial featuresTake measurements, assist patients with adjustments and/or troubleshooting, and dispense eyewearEnsure correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes to patientsAbility to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet and exceed patient expectations as well as foster positive relationships with team membersClean and merchandise displays daily, always displaying effective merchandiseAssist with insurance billing and processing ordersDocument all patient communication in patient records within practice software systemWork on special projects and perform other related duties as assigned or requestedJob SpecificationsOne to two years of experience in a related fieldIf Required by State: Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an opticianWorking knowledge of MS Office packageDemonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentEffective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiriesEffective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations, as well as prepare letters to confirm agreements madeExcellent interpersonal and rapport-building skillsAbility to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needsProven problem-solving, negotiating, and decision-making skillsAbility to use appropriate discretion and judgment in applying customer/call handling guidelinesAbility to listen, process transactions, and interact with customers simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentWorking ConditionsThe working environment is generally favorable.
