AP Specialist

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an AP Specialist in Clayton, MO for 2+ months.The Position:The Accounts Payable Specialist will be a trusted contributor of the accounting and finance team. Within finance, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all vendors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. They will report to the Director of Payables.Specific Responsibilities:

• Perform day to day activities for the full payment cycle
• Track, process and reconcile payments, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions etc., in compliance with financial policies
• Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts
• Continuously improve payment process
• Prepare and process checks for multiple companies
• Update and maintain vendor database
• Audit and verify integrity of expense reports
• Prepare 1099s as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proven work experience as accounts payable specialist or clerk
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
