Work Environment

You will work alongside licensed Physical Therapists, engaging directly with patients to implement treatment plans and monitor progress. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts, allowing for a consistent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute individualized treatment plans designed by supervising Physical Therapists, incorporating techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and appropriate modalities.
• Continuously assess and monitor patient responses to treatment, making recommendations for adaptations based on their progress and medical conditions.
• Provide patient education regarding therapeutic activities and the correct use of rehabilitation equipment, empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery.
• Document patient care and billing information accurately, ensuring timely completion of records for review and sign-off by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Act as a communication bridge between Physical Therapists and patients, facilitating discussions regarding treatment objectives, patient concerns, and care updates.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervising Physical Therapist to support the department's operational goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or an Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a strong foundation in physical therapy practices.
• A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Virginia.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in oncology rehabilitation is highly preferred, equipping you to better serve patients undergoing cancer treatment.
• Current certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) or a willingness to pursue this certification is advantageous and will be viewed favorably.
