Position Overview
We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to manage and advance a diverse civil litigation caseload. The attorney will represent clients in state and federal courts, develop litigation strategy, draft pleadings and motions, conduct discovery, and handle trials and hearings as needed. The role requires strong legal analysis, persuasive advocacy, and client-focused communication to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied civil litigation caseload from intake through resolution, including state and federal matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials; present evidence and examine witnesses.
• Develop case strategy, evaluate risks, and advise clients on litigation options and settlement opportunities.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, review documents, and oversee e-discovery processes.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution when appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel; maintain accurate case files and billing records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Stay current on changes in laws, rules, and court procedures relevant to civil litigation.
• Represent the firms values and maintain professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience in law firms or corporate litigation departments; experience in state and federal court proceedings preferred.
• Proven trial and courtroom experience, including hearings, depositions, and jury trials.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
• Effective negotiation skills and a track record of achieving favorable resolutions.
• Excellent oral communication and client counseling abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management software, and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis).
• Preferred skills: Civil Litigation, Civil, Litigation, Attorney.
