Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Travel Respiratory Therapist Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin – 13‑week travel assignment through Fusion Medical Staffing. Responsibilities Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans. Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders. Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples. Treat patients using methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications. Set up and monitor equipment to ensure appropriate oxygen delivery. Observe and record patient status and progress. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care. Educate patients and/or family members on medication and equipment usage. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC. Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with Wisconsin state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). ACLS or PALS certification (AHA/ARC) preferred. Required Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, lift 50–100 lbs, push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and equipment use. Mental Requirements Manage frequent contact with the public and patients while meeting deadlines under pressure. Adapt to occasional close supervision or independent work when necessary. Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail. Sensory Possess visual acuity sufficient for effective communication. Benefits Highly competitive travel pay.
