Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company has been based in Grand Rapids for over 125 years. We are a global leader specializing in the design, manufacture and distribution of functional hardware, office and healthcare ergonomics and storage-related components for original equipment manufacturers, specialty distributors, hardware chains and major home centers.

What You Will Get To Do:

• Partner with the Division President to improve financial and operational performance of the division
• Serve as a key member of the division leadership team, providing financial guidance and operational leadership to the overall organization
• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to improve financial reporting, analysis, and performance management of the division
• Translate financial results into actionable insights that support strategic decision making
• Lead/own the month end close process for the division
• Maintain a monthly close checklist; ensure timely, accurate month end close and complete financial reporting; work closely with corporate finance and accounting on the month end close and consolidation process
• Monitor performance against budget and prior year and provide clear explanations of key variances
• Prepare and present the division financials and performance to the Division President and corporate accounting and finance team; identify significant variances, trends, and areas requiring management attention
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries and other accounting

What You Will Bring :

• Work Experience: 5-7 year of experience in Accounting or Finance; Controlling and/or Cost Accounting experience highly preferred; manufacturing experience preferred
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Technical knowledge: Expertise in all aspects of GAAP reporting standards and requirements, corporate finance, accounting, internal controls, corporate development and finance and accounting systems, cost accounting and variance analysis.
• Computer Skills: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel skills), previous experience working with Business Intelligence tools, ERP system and financial reporting & planning software
• Organizational Skills: In-depth knowledge of successful finance and operations strategies and systems to assure tight controls and sound financial reporting, business planning and forecasting
