Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-hour shifts, shift start 6:45 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the LDRP unit, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum — managing patients from start to finish in a high-acuity environment
• Circulate C-sections and assist in OR suites on the unit; all RNs are required to be able to circulate cesarean sections
• Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage patients with common OB diagnoses such as preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
• Float to Mother-Baby (MB) as needed; occasional mid-shift float to other area facilities may occur
• Read and interpret EKG strips for patients in the PACU as required
• May serve in the NRP/Baby Catcher role as assigned for an entire shift, depending on staffing availability

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Ability to circulate C-sections and float to Mother-Baby; must be comfortable in all aspects of LDRP care
• Experience titrating drips and managing high-risk OB patients
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with the health system network within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered
• Two supervisory references required at time of submittal (charge nurse references accepted); one reference must be within the past 12 months and one within the past 3 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with GE Corometric monitors and Fetalink fetal surveillance systems
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines in an OB setting
• Prior experience in a high-volume labor and delivery unit (unit delivers approximately 140–165 births per month)
