Overview The Non‑CDL Driver at SRS Building Products is responsible for safe, accurate, and timely delivery of building materials to job sites, primarily serving contractors. The role supports branch operations, verifies order accuracy, performs vehicle inspections, and maintains safety and customer service standards. Responsibilities Deliver building materials to job sites safely and on schedule, following company safety protocols and route plans. Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, documenting maintenance needs. Verify and manage inventory during loading and unloading to ensure correct quantities and protect against damage. Operate forklifts and other equipment safely to optimize workflow and preserve material integrity. Provide professional, courteous service to customers on site, addressing queries or concerns. Communicate regularly with managers and team members to resolve logistical challenges. Adhere to all corporate and regulatory safety standards, promoting a culture of safety within the branch. Document delivery processes, including capturing photographic evidence to support transparency and accountability. Minimum Qualifications Minimum age 21 years (or 18 for employment) with a valid non‑CDL driver’s license and clean record (no DUIs in the past 3 years, no suspensions in 5 years, no more than 2 violations/accidents in 18 months). U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. (E‑Verify required). Pass drug test, background check, and hold a current DOT medical card for vehicles 10,001 lbs+. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 100 lbs consistently. Preferred Qualifications Delivery driving experience with knowledge of DOT regulations. Experience with building materials, especially roofing products. Forklift operation experience; certification is a plus. Proficiency with GPS and routing software. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills for inventory and documentation. Ability to work independently and manage time in fast‑paced settings. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Problem‑solving abilities for delivery/logistics issues. Comfortable using mobile devices and company apps. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development. Basic math and English communication proficiency. Minimum Experience 1–2 years of professional driving experience. Certifications DOT Medical Certificate (mandatory for vehicles 10,001 lbs+). Valid driver’s license. Forklift certification (preferred). Competencies Strict adherence to safety protocols during material handling and vehicle operation. Effective verbal and written communication with customers and team members. Strong organizational skills for managing delivery schedules and inventory. Proficiency in operating forklifts and conducting vehicle inspections. Exemplary customer service, addressing needs promptly and courteously. Problem‑solving skills for delivery challenges. Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and time management. Physical Requirements Requires physical fitness to load, unload, and operate vehicles for long periods, lift or move materials weighing up to 100 lbs, and work outdoors under varied weather conditions. Travel Requirements Local travel with occasional long‑distance trips, primarily within state boundaries. Direct Manager Assistant Branch Manager or Operations Manager. Direct Reports None.
