After initial screening, additional documentation may be requested.POSITION DESCRIPTION : Part-time position for a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Work will be limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week during and between semesters with exact schedule to be coordinated with the Program Director. Responsibilities will be varied but may include:Working with the Clinical Coordinator on student rotation placementsSite visits to monitor student progress on clinicalsInstructing students in accordance with program policies and procedures in an assigned class as instructor or lab instructor to ensure student mastery of learning outcomes documented in the course syllabusMay include utilizing methods of online instruction/communication with studentsFilling in as needed in case of absence of other instructorsMentoring, tutoring, and advising program studentsMotivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.Proctoring of written examsEvaluate student performance of psychomotor skills using program criteria in the lab and in practical exam settingsOperates laboratory equipment effectivelyUpkeep/organization of lab spaces in collaboration with faculty teamAttend recruitment eventsRespond to communications from faculty and students in a timely mannerCompletes required professional development and other college-required responsibilitiesOther duties as assigned by the Program Director or College AdministrationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:MLT or MLS ASCP CertificationAssociate's degree in MLT or health-related field2 years of experience as an MLT or MLSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in MLS or health-related fieldExperience with clinical education and/or site management in a health care programExperience with a learning management system such as BlackboardExperience as an instructor/lab instructor in a health-related program with a variety of topicsSALARY/BENEFITS: Position pays $38 per hour. There are no State Benefits.
