Senior Manager, Commercial Finance

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial Finance to join a high growth, private equity backed consumer products company. This individual will serve as a strategic finance partner to Sales, Marketing, and executive leadership, providing financial insights that drive profitable growth across the business.

This role requires significant Commercial Finance experience within Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, Retail, or another consumer-focused industry. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in pricing strategy, trade investment management, marketing investment analysis, financial modeling, and commercial decision support while partnering closely with Sales and Marketing to optimize profitability and drive growth.

Senior Manager, Commercial Finance Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner to Sales, Marketing, and Commercial leadership, providing financial guidance that supports profitable growth and strategic decision making.
• Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), monthly forecasting, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range planning for commercial functions.
• Own the sales forecasting process by partnering closely with Sales leadership to evaluate customer trends, demand, volume assumptions, and revenue opportunities.
• Develop and influence pricing strategy, promotional pricing decisions, customer investments, and commercial pricing initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Manage trade investments, promotional spending, customer profitability, gross-to-net analysis, and promotional effectiveness to maximize financial performance.
• Evaluate marketing investments through ROI and ROAS analysis, providing recommendations that optimize marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
• Build sophisticated financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support pricing decisions, new product launches, customer negotiations, promotional investments, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve revenue, gross margin, and profitability.
• Prepare executive presentations, Board materials, and financial reporting packages that clearly communicate business performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
• Partner cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Supply Chain, Operations, FP&A, and Accounting to ensure alignment across commercial initiatives.
• Develop KPI dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into sales performance, pricing effectiveness, customer profitability, marketing investments, and overall commercial performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting capabilities, financial processes, and commercial decision support.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and executive leadership while navigating complex business challenges with professionalism, humility, and influence.
• Operate as a self-starter who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Senior Manager, Commercial Finance Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive Finance, FP&A, or Commercial Finance experience, including significant experience supporting Sales, Marketing, or Commercial organizations.
• Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, Retail, Manufacturing, or other consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, annual operating planning, long-range planning, and month-end financial analysis.
• Strong financial modeling, scenario planning, and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex business problems and influence strategic decision making.
• Experience partnering cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Supply Chain, Operations, and executive leadership.
• Proven ability to communicate financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, translating complex analyses into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Strong understanding of pricing strategy, customer profitability, trade investments, promotional effectiveness, gross-to-net analysis, and commercial performance metrics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, Tableau, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan, OneStream, or other financial planning and ERP systems preferred.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with a collaborative, business-partnering mindset.
