Kennel Assistant

The Animal Haven, a no-kill shelter for homeless and abandoned cat and dogs, is looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant (40 hours a week) whose responsibilties are: Feeding and caring for the cats and dogs at the shelter Cleaning the shelter and all of the animal areas in accordance with the shelter's cleaning protocols Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas of the shelter, including the kitchen, sanitation and laundry rooms Medicating any sick animals as directed by the Medical Coordinator and/or Shelter Manager Walking the dogs and providing them with enrichment Practicing safe animal handling (with respect to the dogs and cats) Bringing animals to and from the vet, as needed Following the work schedule as posted and maintaining accurate time records Performing other duties as directed by the Shelter Manager, Medical Coordinator and/or Adoption Coordinator Must love animals and must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
