Position Summary As a Bakery Department Lead you will drive sales in your area, supervise your hourly team, and deliver to members more of what they love for less. You will model expertise in bakery and work collaboratively with other team leaders to meet members’ expectations across the club. What You’ll Do Be a Team Leader: Supervises the bakery team, communicates goals, executes company programs, adheres to policies, advocates for members, associates, and the company, and works with other leaders to meet club expectations. Be an Expert: Maintains in‑depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations, product specifications, and seasonality; ensures the department meets quality, inventory, equipment, safety, sanitation, and compliance standards; shares knowledge and trains the team on new products, recipes, and specifications. Be a Techie: Leverages digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; uses handheld technology for immediate decisions about production, training, and quality; adopts new tools and encourages others. Be an Owner: Drives business results, maintains a neat, clean, and safe workspace, plans and staffs for weekly volumes, ensures consistent quality and safety, audits inventory, and displays merchandise per the layout plan. Be a Talent Ambassador: Identifies training needs, provides development opportunities, encourages career growth, and sources new talent internally and externally. Develops, communicates, and implements processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; analyzes information, monitors progress, and addresses improvements. Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethics by guiding and exemplifying proper conduct, implementing action plans, and assisting with ethical and compliance issues. Leads and participates in teams using shared resources, determining customer needs and priorities, executing assignments, and providing feedback to achieve timelines and quality; models change adaptation. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid at $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience in a bakery production department or 6 months experience supervising a team. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to complete all required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period. Preferred Qualifications Bakery production, including decorating.
