For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot). Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

Davis H. Elliot is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical and telecommunications construction projects. Working closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients, you will play a critical role in securing successful projects and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for large, complex, and high-profile projects
• Develop comprehensive labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
• Evaluate project risks and develop pricing strategies
• Prepare and present bid reviews to management
• Lead, coach, and support estimators and estimating co-ops
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
• Participate in project handoff and pre-construction planning activities
• Assist with estimating process improvements, standards, and database development
• Track market trends and analyze historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience
• Extensive knowledge of electrical construction systems, methods, and industry standards
• Demonstrated success estimating large commercial, industrial, utility, or infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in Accubid and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to mentor others and lead estimating teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
