Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Arespected cardiovascular surgery program in Redding, CA is seeking anexperienced Cardiovascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a locums assignment.This opportunity is ideal for advanced practice providers with strong firstassist experience in cardiovascular surgery and substantial expertise inendovascular vein harvesting (EVH).

• All shifts are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM onsite
• Night call from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required as part of the schedule
• Holiday call coverage included for scheduled assignment dates
• Average callback hours: approximately 1-2 hours
• No ICU, Cath Lab, or Emergency Department call responsibilities

• Approximately 10-11 heart surgeries per month
• Additional thoracic surgical cases available for first assist
• Daily inpatient rounding responsibilities
• APPs assist with postoperative documentation and patient management alongside surgeons
• Average inpatient census is typically fewer than 10 patients
• Outpatient follow-up clinic held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
• Clinic volume averages up to 6 patients per session

• First assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Perform endovascular vein harvesting (EVH)
• Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Conduct inpatient rounds and assist with daily patient management
• Write postoperative progress notes and care documentation
• Participate in outpatient follow-up clinic evaluations
• Collaborate closely with cardiovascular surgeons and multidisciplinary teams

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Active California license preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and DEA certifications
• Recent and substantial cardiovascular surgery experience required
• Strong first assist experience in cardiac surgery required
• Substantial experience performing EVH is mandatory
