Position: Clinician II Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Shift: 7:00am – 7:30pm (Rotating schedule days) Location: Crisis - NC Durham 309 Crutchfield Street Salary: $27.00 – $29.00/hour Position Summary The Clinician II develops a recovery service plan and uses recovery‑oriented therapeutic counseling to engage individuals in their recovery journey. The Clinician II orients individuals to the program by collaborating with and assessing needs, identifying challenges, and facilitating the development of goals in treatment and recovery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Care & Advocacy Serve as the mental health professional for individuals until they are enrolled in services at another community agency, when applicable. Conduct thorough clinical assessments and treatment plans for services. Assess individual needs and provide appropriate support and referral. Provide short‑ and long‑term recovery‑oriented therapeutic counseling and education on a group or individual basis. Provide family education and family counseling. Facilitate recovery education courses. Compliance & Risk Management Determine provisional diagnosis, obtain documentation of medical necessity and submit authorizations for service in a timely fashion. Complete clinical documentation as required. Complete incident reports according to policy. Keep abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. Adhere to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as stated in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. Additional Duties Perform other related duties assigned. Job Requirements Education/Licenses Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university. Associate Licensure in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field required. State professional certification where applicable. Experience Minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health experience required. Skills Basic computer skills. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Excellent documentation skills. Attention to detail. Problem‑solving skills. Effective listening skills. Pass de‑escalation training as defined by state requirements. Driving Requirements If driving is required, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations’ driving policy. If not qualified to drive, a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed. Miscellaneous Requirements Travel required based on business need. At least 18 years old unless state regulations specify a different minimum. Successfully complete and meet all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process. Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism. Second‑Chance Employer: Pass a seven‑year background check, substance abuse testing, education verification, fingerprinting clearance, and complete motor vehicle report if driving is required. Physical Demands May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye‑hand‑foot coordination; use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds. Work Environment May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
