Job Title

RN II – ICU / CVICU (CNA Represented)

San Luis Obispo, CA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 rotating shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | On-call is rare

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care to patients in a critical care setting, including those with multi-system failure
• Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of neuro/trauma and respiratory failure
• Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
• Apply critical care nursing knowledge and skills across a Medical ICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU environment
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS accepted)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required; candidates without TNCC may be considered provided certification is obtained prior to start date
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Passing completion of a Critical Care Nursing course
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.) in Nursing or equivalent; High School Diploma/GED required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum six months of previous critical care experience (Medical ICU, Trauma ICU, or Neuro ICU)
