Proprietary Trader Wasilla, AK

Proprietary Trader Opportunity

Maverick Currencies is hiring a Proprietary Trader based in Wasilla, AK. This is a remote, performance-based opportunity we fund qualified US traders with up to $400,000 in firm capital and split profits 60% to 90% depending on performance tier.

Why Wasilla, AK

Trading from Wasilla has a structural advantage that's easy to underrate. The Pacific time zone gives you the longest viable FX day in the US the Asian close, the full European session, and the New York open all unfold through the morning, with peak liquidity hitting before lunch. For traders building a long-term career, that kind of stable daily rhythm compounds.

Alaska's position in the Pacific zone (with a one-hour offset much of the year) gives traders an unusual advantage: the New York session opens at 5:30am local, and by lunch the bulk of the high-volume day is done. For traders who prefer their afternoons free, no other US state offers a cleaner schedule.

Compensation & Capital Disclosure

This role pays through profit-share, not salary. You trade firm capital and keep 60% to 90% of the returns you generate, based on your performance tier. Consistently profitable traders typically realize $50,000 to $200,000+ annually. The trade-off is explicit: there is no salary floor. If you are not profitable, you do not earn the upside is that profitable traders are not capped.

Common Questions

Q: What's the most common reason traders fail out?

A: Discretionary deviation. Traders who follow the system get funded; traders who decide they know better than the system in the moment usually do not. We screen for coachability for that reason.

Q: What's the firm's track record?

A: Maverick Trading has been training and funding traders since 1997. We're not a new-wave 'prop firm' that markets challenges aggressively we're a long-standing operation with a structured program and a track record that pre-dates most of the industry.
