POSITION: 1.0 Custodian - (NY Helps)

Civil Service Full-time / 12 month

Initial Assignment : Middle School Full-time / 12 Month 8.0 hrs/day - 5 days/week (Monday through Friday) 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Aniticipated Appointment: July 1, 2026

• There is no civil service examination required for this position for the duration of the NY HELPS Program. Candidates must meet the minimum civil service qualifications for a NY HELPS appointment as follows :

A.Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a highschool equivalency diploma and one year of experience in either-commercialcleaning practice, or in general building maintenance which included experiencein any one of the following trades; Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A. C. Systems,Plumbing; OR

B.Five years of experience in either-commercial cleaning practices, or in generalbuilding maintenance, which included experience in any one of the followingtrades: Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A.C. Systems, Plumbing; OR

C.An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limitsof (A) and (B).

General Duties:

General cleaning, maintenance, and repair in a PreK - 12 setting.

Hourly Rate: $20.95 Per the OPSRPA Contract
