In this role, you’ll lead land development projects from initial planning through design completion, managing client relationships, project teams, and technical execution. Let’s talk.****Keys to Success:*** Manage land development projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.* Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong, responsive relationships.* Oversee and coordinate the work of engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff; identify scope creep.* Lead the preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permit applications.* Review and approve technical designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.* Support business development by identifying new opportunities and participating in proposal development.* Facilitate meetings with clients, public agencies, and internal teams to discuss project progress and resolve challenges.* Mentor and develop junior engineers and project team members.* Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project goals.* Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.* 6+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.* Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.* Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.* Strong knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting processes.* Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-related design software.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and public agency staff.**Preferred Qualifications:*** 8+ years of progressive project management experience in land development.* Experience working with both public and private sector clients.* Established relationships with local municipalities and reviewing agencies.* Business development experience, including proposal writing and client presentations.* Strong mentoring skills with the ability to lead and develop junior staff.* Experience with project management software tools (such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint or similar).### Why Join MacKay?A people-first culture At MacKay, we put people first. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.*US Pay Range$135,000—$170,000 USDFull-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.Employment requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
