Senior Datacenter Engineer

Define system-level architecture and product strategy for next-generation data centers and become an expert on Google data center electrical canonical designs.Conduct engineering analysis and research innovative designs for data center equipment and facilities, and mentor junior electrical engineers in the region and the overall Google Data Centers program.Develop and document standard operating and maintenance procedures for critical systems, and collaborate with Operations teams and engineers for retrofits and critical issues’ resolution. Implement process improvements across critical infrastructure projects to boost operational efficiency.Validate that all designs and installations meet specified cooling, structural, and performance requirements. Apply controls engineering principles to design and implement automated mission-critical systems and collaborate with equipment engineers and program design engineers for all modifications and design changes on projects.Regional travel required at least 50% of the time to various unanticipated worksites.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
