This position is responsible for building strong manufacturer relationships, leading program implementation and execution, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities to improve service, strengthen partnerships, and grow Amerita's business.

The role serves as a key liaison between manufacturer partners and Amerita's cross-functional teams, including Pharmacy, Nursing, Operations, Patient Services, Sales, Clinical, Finance, IT, and Compliance. The Manufacturer Program Manager ensures programs meet contractual, operational, financial, and service expectations while driving continuous improvement and successful product launches.

The position requires strong business acumen, project management skills, executive communication, and the ability to influence across functions without direct authority. Travel is required approximately 20–30% for manufacturer meetings, QBRs, product launches, industry meetings, and other business engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary strategic point of contact and account manager for assigned pharmaceutical manufacturer partners and specialty pharmacy programs
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships across multiple levels and functions within assigned manufacturer organizations, including Commercial, Trade, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, and Operations
  • Develops a strong understanding of each manufacturer's business objectives, product strategy, therapeutic areas, patient journey, distribution strategy, and specialty pharmacy expectations
  • Translates manufacturer objectives into effective operational strategies, programs, and solutions within Amerita
  • Develops strategic account plans designed to strengthen partnerships, improve performance, expand capabilities, and increase Amerita's share of business
  • Serves as an internal advocate for manufacturer partners while balancing manufacturer expectations with Amerita's operational, financial, compliance, and strategic objectives
  • Identifies opportunities to deepen relationships and expand Amerita's role within assigned manufacturer accounts
  • Leads the end-to-end implementation of new specialty pharmaceutical products, therapies, manufacturer programs, services, and strategic initiatives
  • Develops implementation plans, timelines, milestones, resource requirements, communication plans, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinates cross-functional readiness across Pharmacy, Nursing, Operations, Patient Services, Sales, Clinical, Finance, IT, Compliance, and other internal teams
  • Establishes clear ownership, accountability, and escalation pathways for program implementation
  • Ensures operational, clinical, technology, reporting, inventory, staffing, workflow, and training requirements are addressed prior to launch
  • Leads post-launch stabilization and optimization activities to ensure programs achieve intended performance and service expectations
  • Develops standardized implementation and program management processes that can be replicated across manufacturer partnerships where appropriate
  • Establishes, monitors, and reports manufacturer-specific KPIs and performance metrics, including operational, financial, clinical, service, patient, access, and program-specific measures
  • Monitors performance against contractual obligations, service-level agreements, manufacturer expectations, and internal objectives
  • Analyzes trends and performance data to identify risks, root causes, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Develops and executes corrective action and performance improvement plans when program performance falls below expectations
  • Partners with Finance and operational leaders to understand program economics, financial performance, profitability, revenue opportunities, and cost drivers
  • Identifies opportunities to improve program efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, improve utilization, and enhance the overall value delivered to manufacturer partners
  • Maintains accountability for assigned program commitments and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Oversees manufacturer-specific contractual and trade program deliverables, including reporting, data requirements, inventory requirements, service-level expectations, program commitments, and other contractual obligations
  • Partners with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure programs are executed in accordance with applicable agreements and requirements
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of manufacturer program requirements and communicate changes to appropriate internal stakeholders
  • Identifies potential contractual, operational, financial, compliance, or reputational risks and escalate appropriately
  • Ensures documentation, reporting, and program records are accurate, current, and audit-ready
  • Coordinates and leads quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and other strategic manufacturer meetings
  • Develops agendas, executive presentations, scorecards, dashboards, performance summaries, strategic recommendations, and action plans
  • Clearly communicates program performance, accomplishments, challenges, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to manufacturer and Amerita leadership
  • Translates complex operational, financial, and performance data into concise, actionable business insights
  • Maintains consistent communication with manufacturer partners regarding program performance, upcoming initiatives, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensures follow-up actions from business reviews and strategic meetings are clearly assigned, tracked, and completed
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for manufacturer-related operational, service, patient, technology, reporting, and program issues
  • Coordinates cross-functional resolution of complex issues and ensure timely communication with manufacturer partners
  • Identifies recurring issues and lead root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the patient, provider, manufacturer, and Amerita experience
  • Partners with internal teams to implement process improvements, technology enhancements, workflow changes, and other operational solutions
  • Establishes mechanisms to capture lessons learned and incorporate them into future implementations and programs
  • Partners with senior leadership and commercial teams to identify opportunities to expand manufacturer relationships and increase Amerita's share of business
  • Supports manufacturer business development activities, including RFPs, presentations, proposals, capabilities discussions, program design, and implementation planning
  • Identifies opportunities to introduce additional Amerita capabilities, services, or solutions that address manufacturer needs
  • Monitors competitive, market, therapeutic-area, and specialty pharmacy trends and communicate relevant insights to leadership
  • Develops an understanding of competitor capabilities and manufacturer priorities to help position Amerita as a differentiated strategic partner
  • Contributes to strategic planning for assigned manufacturer accounts, including growth opportunities, risks, priorities, and long-term relationship objectives
  • Leads strategically important initiatives across functions without direct authority
  • Establishes clear objectives, roles, responsibilities, timelines, and accountability for cross-functional teams
  • Builds strong partnerships with internal leaders and subject matter experts across Amerita
  • Influences decisions through data, business insight, relationships, and effective communication
  • Maintains alignment among internal stakeholders throughout program development, implementation, and ongoing operations
  • Escalates barriers appropriately and drive timely decision-making
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of manufacturer relationships, program requirements, contractual commitments, decisions, communications, risks, action items, and deliverables
  • Develops and maintains program governance structures, dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools
  • Establishes appropriate meeting cadence and communication routines for assigned programs
  • Ensures program documentation is organized, accurate, current, and accessible to appropriate stakeholders
  • Performs other duties and strategic projects as assigned
