Wound Care Nurse

Job Overview The Enterostomal Therapy nurse provides acute and rehabilitative care for patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. Responsibilities include interpreting policies and procedures, formulating methods and procedures, and promoting patient safety using the nursing process for ostomy, wound, and skin care. Key Responsibilities Provide acute and rehabilitative care for patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders. Interpret general policies, procedures, and instructions and formulate methods and procedures. Promote patient safety using the nursing process for ostomy, wound, and skin care. Perform duties in accordance with Mercy Service Standards, mission, and values. Requirements Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Minimum 4 years of acute care nursing experience. Certified in American Heart Association BLS. Excellent communication skills. Preferred: Graduate of an 8‑week accredited school of Enterostomal Therapy. Preferred: Certification as Enterostomal Therapist by the WOCN (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing).
