Composite Technician

Job Title: Composites Technician Location: Roseville, MI, USA Position Overview The Composites Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing high‑quality composite components using materials such as carbon fiber, metal, plastics, and adhesives. Because the Composites Department produces the foundational parts needed for final seat assemblies, this team establishes the production pace for the entire facility. Operating in a high‑impact environment, the successful candidate takes technical direction from Team Leads and Supervisors, utilizes Visual Factory and Epicor ERP software to track builds against production schedules, and possesses the physical stamina to stand for 10‑hour shifts. Key Responsibilities Take direction from the Team Lead and Supervisor to meet shifting daily production goals. Component Fabrication & Assembly: Safely construct and assemble parts according to engineering drawings and specifications Material Processing: Accurately cut, shape, and bond materials including carbon fiber, metal, plastics, and adhesives Material Preparation: Sand and smooth surfaces to precise tolerances and ensure proper bonding of plastics, metals, and carbon fiber Precision Measurement: Use calipers, micrometers, and measuring tape to verify that components meet exact metric and standard measurements Quality Assurance: Ensure all finished products meet strict quality standards while adhering to a fast‑paced schedule System Tracking: Utilize Visual Factory and Epicor to log work progress and manage inventory. Safety & Compliance: Actively participate in PPE training and maintain a safe working environment Pace‑Setting Production: Fabricate and deliver critical composite parts on time to prevent downstream bottlenecks in the seat assembly department Documentation: Maintain exact records of product configurations, test results, and material tracking including scrap log within internal databases Additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 1+ years hands‑on manufacturing experience. Internship experience within manufacturing industry preferred High School graduates with STEM programming preferred Must be able to stand for extended periods Able to lift 50lbs Abide by department cell phone policy: no phones visible at workstation and one ear bud in Preferred Skills & Experience Minimum of 1+ years hands‑on manufacturing experience.
