Assistant Controller

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a PE-backed, multi-state healthcare organization to identify an Assistant Controller. This is a hands-on accounting leadership role with significant responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the finance function across a growing, multi-location organization. Working closely with the Controller, the Assistant Controller will oversee core accounting activities, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and the accounting team while helping ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activities. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, general ledger review, and financial statement preparation. Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP and established accounting policies. Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and ongoing financial reporting. Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls while supporting regulatory compliance and the annual audit process. Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing day-to-day direction, training, and support to ensure an effective and accountable accounting function. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and GAAP. Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day accounting priorities in a fast-paced, multi-entity or multi-location environment. Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office. #J-18808-Ljbffr
