Operations Associate

In-House Health is a fast-growing health tech startup backed by leading healthcare and technology investors. We build the AI-powered scheduling and workforce management platform that skilled nursing facilities, post-acute providers, and hospitals use to run their staffing: filling shifts with their own clinicians instead of agency, controlling overtime, and making staffing decisions on real data rather than an Excel sheet and a group text.

The problem is significant, and the impact of solving it is tangible. Provider organizations across the care continuum are chronically short-staffed, spend heavily on agency labor, and still manage schedules on paper and spreadsheets. When we get it right, an organization saves real money, its clinical staff get more predictable schedules, and its patients get more consistent care.

The value team sits within the operations team and owns customer value outcomes, from launch through ongoing performance reviews and stakeholder management. We are the ones sitting across from a provider group or health system executive explaining what changed in their overtime, agency spend, and shift fill since they partnered with us, and what to do next.

We are on track to grow our customer base nearly tenfold this year. This role is how we scale with it. You will help our customers turn In-House into real savings: preparing the story for executive meetings, working with facility teams to understand why overtime went up, and making sure what we commit to actually happens. Some of that is analysis, and a lot of it is customer conversations, follow-up, and fixing what is broken. The work reaches past your own team. You will be the voice of the customer with Product and Engineering and part of the analytical half of a sales pitch.

You will wear many hats. In a given week you might join an executive customer call, walk a facility through why its overtime went up, build a dashboard, draft a section of a steering committee deck, and clean up a messy data export. Priorities will shift as we grow, and a process you help build in month three may be rebuilt in month nine because we have outgrown it. That is the plan, not a failure of planning. This suits someone who would rather help design how something works than inherit a finished playbook.

This is an early-career role, and you will not be figuring it out alone. You will have a manager invested in your development, direct access to the people making decisions, and a small team that will teach you the business, the data, and the domain. You bring curiosity, good judgment, and follow-through, and take on independent ownership of workstreams as you ramp.

This is not a data engineering or software role, and no coding is required. The analysis is spreadsheet-level: the hard part is understanding how a care center or hospital staffs its shifts, spotting what matters, and explaining it to an administrator or nurse leader.

• Prepare materials for customer steering committees and monthly network updates, and join those meetings, turning the numbers into a clear, concise story for operators and executives
• Work hand in glove with our implementation, activation, and customer success teams to translate day-to-day scheduling and clinical workflows into measurable value, and help each facility focus on the value drivers that matter most for them
• Dig into each network's numbers (overtime, agency use, staffing levels, and shift fill) to figure out what is driving them, and bring a recommendation on what to do next rather than only a report
• Track down why our numbers and a customer's payroll, timekeeping, or agency invoices don't match, and work with the right people to fix it
• Partner with Product and Engineering as the voice of the customer, turning what you hear and see from customers into clear requests, and testing new features before they reach customers
• Support Sales with savings estimates for prospective networks and the proof points that show what value looks like once a customer is live
• Help create the templates, checklists, and simple reports that let a small team support a fast-growing group of customers
• Handle ad hoc customer requests, and turn the recurring ones into standing reports
• Visit facilities and sit with schedulers and administrators to understand how they work and where we can help

• At least two years in a role that mixes problem-solving with people, such as consulting, operations, customer success, account management, or healthcare operations
• Comfortable working in Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables)
• Willingness to learn quickly. You will pick up a new industry, a new data model, and new tools at the same time, and ask good questions along the way
• Initiative. You notice the thing that needs doing and start it, rather than waiting to be assigned
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to summarize a finding in a few sentences for a non-technical reader
• Enjoys working directly with customers, including on the phone and on site
• Strong attention to detail and reliable follow-through on multiple parallel requests
• Comfort with incomplete data and shifting priorities, including the judgment to flag what is not trustworthy rather than reporting it anyway

• Experience in a fast-moving, customer-facing environment such as a startup, consulting, or hospitality
• Exposure to healthcare operations, workforce management, scheduling, payroll, or HRIS systems in a skilled nursing, post-acute, hospital, or similar provider setting
• Experience supporting a sales or customer-facing team with analysis, business cases, or value modeling
• Working fluency with general AI tools for analysis, drafting, and automation
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Week 1

• You are set up in our tools and have walked through how a care setting builds and staffs a schedule
• You have sat in on customer calls and know which networks the team supports and who owns what
• You have shipped one small, defined analysis or report update end to end

Month 1

• You have started your own workstream project, which you manage end to end with coaching from an Ops manager
• You produce our recurring reports accurately and on schedule, with review
• You can explain our core metrics and where the data comes from, and you know when to escalate a data question rather than guess

Six months

• You own reporting and analysis for a set of customer networks end to end, with spot checks rather than full review
• You have built at least one piece of infrastructure the team uses without you in the loop, such as a standardized dashboard, a reusable template, or an automated process that replaced a manual one
• Your analyses come with a recommendation attached, and you have a point of view on where our reporting will break as we scale
