Histopathology Technician

Location: West Sacramento, CA

Duration: 6+ months

Shift: M-F 1st Shift

Pay: $30-$39/hr. on W2

Responsibilities

• Responsible for histological procedures in an accredited CAP/CLIA laboratory.
• Assistance in the gross room, accessioning, cassette and slide labeling.
• Ability to work efficiently without much supervisory direction over hours as needed.
• Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis and further complex testing.
• Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance programs.
• Investigates documents, communicates and resolves needs, problems or complaints.
• Performs area-specific support/clinical activities.
• Train other testing personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• 3 years' experience in a Histopathology Laboratory preferred.
• License/Certification: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or eligible for either certification.
