Athletic Trainer – High School Sports Medicine

Location: Bellefontaine / West Central Ohio
Employment: Full-Time

The Opportunity

A well-established healthcare organization in West Central Ohio is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join its sports medicine team and provide dedicated athletic training coverage within a local high school setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Athletic Trainer who enjoys building relationships with student-athletes, coaches, parents, and physicians while having the resources and support of a larger healthcare organization behind them.

Rather than simply covering games, you’ll become an important part of the school community and the broader sports medicine team—helping athletes stay healthy, recover from injuries, and safely return to competition.

What You'll Do

• Provide athletic training coverage for high school athletic programs, practices, and competitions
• Evaluate, treat, and manage athletic injuries
• Develop rehabilitation and return-to-play programs
• Provide emergency care and injury response when needed
• Communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Coordinate referrals to orthopedic, physical therapy, and other clinical services when appropriate
• Maintain accurate injury, treatment, and rehabilitation documentation
• Help promote injury prevention, athlete safety, and overall wellness
• Build strong relationships within the school and surrounding community

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is an Athletic Trainer who enjoys working directly with student-athletes and wants the opportunity to take ownership of an athletic training program.

Qualifications:

• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
• Eligible for or currently licensed to practice as an Athletic Trainer in Ohio
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited athletic training program
• High school athletic training experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant collegiate, clinical, or sports medicine experience are encouraged to apply
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a larger sports medicine and healthcare team
