Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two Graphic Design Assistant student positions for University Housing & Dining Services at Oregon State University.- This position typically works about 10-15 hours per week and no more than 20 hours per week.
- Period of employment is approximately June 2024-June 2025, with the possibility of continued work through the summer and into the next academic year.
- There is also the possibility to begin employment in September 2024.
- Create a variety of promotional materials for print, social media, digital displays, etc., using the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere).
- Create design content that effectively communicates with diverse stakeholders and audiences across the OSU community.
- Assist in posting and managing content on UHDS digital display screens (located in dining centers and residence halls).
- Participate in marketing meetings and brainstorm sessions.
- Attend weekly student staff meeting.
- Assist with managing projects and files and archive final files appropriately.
- Follow projects from initiation, to concept, to execution/completion.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
- Strong interest and/or past experience working with graphic design, creating fliers, posters and/or multi-page documents.
- Basic photography skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software with working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment while also working independently with a high level of self-direction.
- Proficiency in the following software programs: Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, After Effects, Premiere.
- Video and social media marketing skills.
- Experience living in an on-campus environment.
- Enrolled in graphic design, new media communications or related degree area of study.
- Bilingual skills, preferably Spanish language speaker.
- Commitment to diversity and learning about identities other than your own.
- Experience working within a brand system.
