We would love for you to become a member of our team!We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.Job SummaryUrgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Per Diem Hourly Rate: $90Per Diem employes must be available to work 2 days in every 28 days block including 1 weekend shift. 3 days of availability to be provided.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.Required Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferredApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job.Examining and treating patientsTaking patients’ medical historiesOrdering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-raysMaking diagnoses and prescribing medicationsTreating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or castingRecording progress notes for follow-up patientsEducating and counseling patientsOrdering and/or carrying out therapy with patientsGiving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional careEach provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent CareAll other duties as assignedConnect with us:Have questions or need more information?
