About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience preferred. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, chemotherapy administration certification preferred. Must-Have: Experience in an inpatient medical-surgical setting. Experience with colostomy care and managing central and peripheral lines. Knowledge of chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, and isolation precautions. Ability to work with various equipment such as nasal cannula and wound care management. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and must not be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could potentially result in a cancellation. The manager is looking for skilled medical-surgical registered nurses for this unit. Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers. Float requirements include floating to similar units and alternate care locations. All travelers must be able to administer chemotherapy if needed. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Contract staff may be assigned to respond to catastrophic events or disasters. Daily census is around 42 patients, with possible increased ratios during high census. Contract staff will be expected to attend monthly staff meetings. The primary patient population includes general medical-surgical diagnoses with oncology history. Special procedures include the administration of chemotherapy and management of various medical conditions. Contract staff may float to inpatient holding and alternate medical patient care locations. Attendance to monthly staff meetings is required for continuous assessment and improvement.
