The Role
This is a hybrid job, split between the warehouse floor and the front desk. You'll work side by side with our Warehouse Manager on shipping, receiving, and scheduling. You'll also be a main point of contact for customers calling or coming in for orders and pickups. It suits someone who likes variety, can switch from a forklift to a phone call without missing a beat, and wants to grow into more responsibility.

What You'll Do

Customer service and orders

• Answer phones and emails, and help customers with order status, product questions, and pickups
• Enter sales orders and update them accurately in our ERP system
• Coordinate will-call pickups and deliveries with customers, drivers, and our sales team
• Resolve basic order problems like shortages, damages, and wrong items, and escalate when needed

Warehouse

• Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks, put away inventory, and pull orders
• Receive incoming shipments and containers, check them against paperwork, and report discrepancies
• Pick, stage, and load customer orders
• Manage PODs (proof of delivery), bills of lading, and other shipping paperwork
• Coordinate yard logistics, including trailer and container moves, dock scheduling, and carrier check-ins
• Help with cycle counts and keep inventory records accurate
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe

Leadership

• Serve as backup to the Warehouse Manager and run the floor in their absence
• Help plan daily shipping and receiving
• Help train new warehouse staff and model safe work habits

What We're Looking For

• Forklift experience (required)
• 2+ years in warehouse, distribution, or shipping/receiving
• Customer service experience, whether phone, counter, or inside sales
• Comfortable on the phone and email with builders, contractors, and drivers
• Comfortable with computers: order entry, email, and spreadsheets
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle phones, orders, and floor work
• Stays calm when a truck is waiting and the phone is ringing
• Reliable, on time, and willing to own a problem until it's solved

Nice to Have

• Bilingual English/Spanish (strong plus)
• NetSuite or other ERP experience
• Background in flooring, tile, or building materials
• Previous lead or supervisory experience

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and move boxes of flooring up to 50 lbs, with team lifts or equipment for heavier loads
• Stand, walk, bend, and work in a warehouse that can get hot in the Texas summer
• Wear required safety gear, including safety-toe boots, safety glasses, and hi-vis
