Job Title: Application Developer III Java & SQL

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid work environment - 1 day / week on site)

Duration: 14 Months

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer with 5+ years of hands-on software development experience to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications .
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, SQL, and stored procedures , along with experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on development experience with Java, including modern Java versions and features .
Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem .
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions .
Advanced knowledge of SQL , including Complex queries, Joins and subqueries, Query optimization and performance tuning.
Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL stored procedures.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services .
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, coding standards, and application architecture.
Experience with source-control and modern development practices, preferably Git/GitHub.
Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools , for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and developer productivity.
Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and application troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments .
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments .
Core Technical Skills Mandatory: Java | Spring Boot | Spring Batch I SQL | Stored Procedures | REST APIs | Git/GitHub | AI Coding Tools.
