Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift inpatient position at a Level 1 Trauma facility, requiring Epic EMR experience and competency across a broad range of respiratory care procedures.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility
• Respiratory care provided across inpatient units and the Emergency Department
• Patient population spans neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups
• Procedures include blood gas analysis (arterial, venous, and capillary), ventilator management, sleep therapy, and equipment maintenance
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday rotation required for major holidays
• No on-call required
• No floating required

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Blood gas analysis experience required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Illinois RCP license required (if applicable)
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Complete ventilator patient assessments and recommend timely interventions or referrals as appropriate
• Accurately document care in the EMR, including respiratory flow sheets, care plans, charges, and sleep therapy documentation
• Prepare, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; report malfunctions to management
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any facility within the system
