Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Role Overview Perform nuclear medicine procedures using equipment and Hybrid PET/CT scanners, utilizing independent judgment to ensure accurate imaging and patient care. Responsibilities include conducting advanced imaging such as PET/CT, shunt patency, brain death studies, and therapeutic administrations like 131I ablations, Strontium/Samarium, and Xofigo. Maintain technical proficiency in imaging, infection control, equipment safety, and quality control protocols. Qualifications & Skills Registered nuclear medicine technologist with ARRT-N or NMTCB certification; PET technologist certification within 18 months. Active license from the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety; BLS CPR certification. Minimum of 2 years nuclear medicine experience, including 1 year as Tech II, plus 700 hours on hybrid PET/CT scanner. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, guide colleagues, and instruct students. Experience with equipment troubleshooting, protocol modification, and safety measures regarding radiopharmaceuticals. Capable of performing emergency and routine patient care, including bariatric and ICU imaging, with adherence to infection control practices. Participate in continuing education, quality control, and preventative maintenance processes. Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, and assist with other department tasks as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
